She Hoops Too

She Hoops Too is a coming-of-age documentary following two 14-year-old basketball players, Serwah Banahene, a 6’7” phenom from Ghana, and Samantha King, a 6’0” point guard from New Jersey, over four years as they compete in elite high school basketball in the US. The film explores how NIL-era opportunity, immigration, gender, and class impact their fight for a future in an uncertain system. Rooted in family and community, their story reveals the power of resilience, identity, and belief in oneself when nothing is guaranteed.
